Finished Drawing

I've had this drawing finished for a while now, but just needed some time to make sure I didn't want to do anything more with it. I am happy with it though, and hope that Mike and AnnMarie are as well!

Now I've got to get going on that painting again!

Remington is doing good these days. He's enjoying his time with Luna, his new girlfriend. She has to stay with him now because she is quite the escape artist and refuses to stay in the 3 strands of wire in the back pasture. It's good for Rem though, he finally has a buddy... They get along like peas in a pod, really. They even share their grain and eat out of the same hay pile!

Cheveyo Drawing

Well since I haven't worked on my painting in so long, I figured I'd better do something artistic soon, or I'll lose all my talent! When I heard about Cheveyo, I was really upset for Mike and AnnMarie. They did a great job taking care of him and training him, and they did everything they could to save him. I offered to do a painting of Cheveyo for them. I originally planned on an acrylic painting but decided to do a chalk pastel portrait instead. I can get more detail with the chalk, and it's a nice soft medium, quite suitable for Cheveyo's kind nature.

So, here are the first 5 layers. These pastel drawings go much faster than the paintings I do because I don't have to wait for anything to dry!

Rem meets a steer...sort of

Okay, so it wasn't a real steer, but it was a good experience!

Aubrey and I trailered Remington and Belle over to my uncle's place to ride. He offered to pull the roping dummy around on his 4-wheeler for Rem to track. He did really good, and handled the 4-wheeler really well. I was surprised he wasn't more scared of it after seeing his reaction to cars the last time I ponied him on the road...he wasn't thrilled with them to say the least. This 4-wheeler was just fine though, especially since all it seemed to do was run away from him.
