The Farrier

The Farrier finally made it back out! Remington was so good! I am so amazed at how these horses change the way they think about things so quickly. This time around Remington was nothing but calm and relaxed, he didn't mind the strange farrier one bit. He stood really well.

Here are a few before, during, and after photos of the trim. :-)

What a nice job. I used to live across the railroad tracks from a blacksmith whose anvil banging woke me up in time for school every morning. I have seen him shoe everything from giant work horses to oxen. And I know a good job when I see it. Your photography is great too.

Hi Jessie! I love your blog and I think you are doing a great job with Remington! I have three horses of my own (two of which are mustangs)and I love reading about everyones different training techniques and how far everyone has come in a short time. I was just wondering too. Are you going to try and adopt Remington when they do the auction? I would love to do the makeover but I know the auction would drive me crazy and I would probably buy the horse that I trained! :)

Thanks for the kind words Nikki.

I wish I could adopt Remington, but I've already got 2 horses and I don't think I would even have enough saved up for the initial adoption price. I suppose if the bids didn't go any higher than $500 I would think about it but I have a feeling they won't stay low. Who knows though with the way the horse market is!! I would encourage you to apply to be a trainer in the Fort Worth competition! It is a great experience and I'm having a blast!
